| Mrs. Deborah Johnson was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She attended St John's Lutheran School and Racine Lutheran High before moving on to Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois, where she earned a BA in elementary education and a Director of Parish Music degree. After her college graduation in 1985, she received a call to teach music in grades 1-8 at St. Peter in Schaumburg. After that year she went to Tabor in Chicago and taught until her daughter was born in November of 1988. She continued as Tabor's organist and adult choir director until 1991 when she took a three year leave of absence to raise her three small children. After those three years she continued as organist and adult choir director until coming to St. Paul in 1998. At St. Paul, Mrs. Johnson has been teaching 4th grade, directing the upper grade choir, and teaching music from 4th-8th grade. In her spare time she likes to sew, watch her granddaughter, Caylee, and taxi her children, Rachel -21, Nathan - 19, and Hannah - 18 around. She has been married 22 years to Mr. Eric Johnson. They live in Des Plaines with their cats, Crystal and Cali. |
